The 10th Annual Global Chinese Financial Forum - Toronto Conference 2009

Thank you for your support at the 10th Annual Global Chinese Financial Forum – Toronto Conference 2009 on Oct 16th-17th. Once again, we have proved ourselves to be the largest bi-lingual financial conference that bridges the gap between the financial and capital markets of North America and Greater China. As anticipated, both the Day 1 – China Partnering Forum and the Day 2 – Financial Expo of our annual event generated great turnout and we were excited to hear the positive feedbacks from participants.

Day 1 – China Partnering Forum
The Day 1 – China Partnering Forum was an extremely successful and well-received event. It truly represented a major gateway for North American institutions to enter into the Greater China Region. It also demonstrated the significant interest and demand of China-related information and opportunities for the international attendees. Over 450 North American professionals participated at our event. This year, we were excited to achieve a major milestone by having over 30 delegates coming from Greater China to join us at the conference. With the focus industries for this day of the conference being the Life Sciences, Resources, and Clean Technology sectors, over 60 projects from both North America and China were introduced at the conference. We are proud that our event has truly demonstrated the idea of building a productive conference filled with educational, networking, and business opportunities. The program throughout the day certainly plays a major role in helping us achieve a successful conference:

There were 3 tracks of informative presentations at the event. Over 50 renowned speakers provided insights and information of China-related business opportunities in the focus industries.

Our networking luncheon and cocktail reception at the event provided participants a great environment to mingle with other attendees from worldwide and form valuable networks.

One of the highlights for the day was the special private meetings and presentations that took place throughout the day. They offered participating companies private settings to further introduce their projects to the interested groups from Greater China, constructing an even more productive and enlightening experience for participating groups.

Not to mention, the informative speech given by Mr. Todd Buchholz (Former White House Director of Economic Policy, managing director of the $15 billion Tiger hedge fund, award‐winning economics teacher at Harvard and contributor for CNBC, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes and Reader’s Digest), Mr. Liu Yongshen (Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Energy and Minerals United Association), Mr. Gerald V. Dahling (Senior VP of Global Patents (Retired) of Sanofi Aventis), and Dr. You Zhi Tang (Chief Scientific Officer and Member, Board of Directors of DaoPower Canada Corp.) have aroused great interest among attendees and have equipped them with additional knowledge.

Day 2 – Financial Expo
The Day 2 – Financial Expo is an event catered towards the retail investors in the Greater Toronto area. This year, we have attracted an attendance of over 1,200 individuals. With over 50 exhibition booths and 3 presentation tracks running concurrently (over 40 presentations altogether), participants increased their knowledge in regards to the current financial issues and wealth management strategies.
The Real Estate component, which is a newly-added section to our event, was well-received by the Chinese community in the Greater Toronto Area. The speeches revolving around areas such as REITS, market trends, and hot projects related to the Real Estate sector have generated great interest from attendees and provided knowledge for those who are unfamiliar with the industry.
Additional spotlights to the conference include the Opening Ceremony that was attended by Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Deputy Mayor Jack Heath, Councilor Alex Chiu, Councilor Logan Kanapathi, and other guests, the Welcoming Session hosted by the Town of Markham, and the Networking Luncheon that was attended by local financial professionals, business associations, and government officials.
To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the GCFF – Toronto Conference, we have launched special programs for our attendees to partake. Not only are these games entertaining, but they also allow our attendees to learn more about the financial market during the past 10 years. The online trivia game, derived from the GCFF - Vancouver Conference 2009, had a great turnout and we were pleased to see how enthusiastic investors were while playing the game at the event.
